At Cognitio, David plays a vital role in terms of advising us on matters pertaining to strategy, finance, and human resources. David is Director and CEO of Business Advisory Group and is currently engaged in managing interests of higher education providers from Australian and the UK supporting their market expansion strategies, transnational education initiatives, and support stakeholders in strengthening their profile and position in Sri Lanka and South Asia region. David has worked in diverse sectors such as advanced manufactory and technology, education and training, ICT, automotive, fashion, healthcare, media and publication, human resources, and business services in multicultural working environment.

David was formerly Country Director of Deakin University and Regional Head of James Cook University based in Sri Lanka managing their expansion strategies in the market. Also held position of Business Development Manager – South Asia Education and Global Value Chain for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), an Australian Government Agency of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Also, he worked for the UK Trade and Investment, Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British High Commission in Colombo, DIMO, and Toyota Motor Corporation in the Middle East covering G7.

David was awarded the highest recognition by the Australian Government in the year 2014 with the Australia Day Achievement Medallion for his services to the Australian Public Sector and was one the first to be recognised in the region. Recently he was a finalist of the Pioneer Awards 2021 for the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award.

David had his university education in economics, international trade, and human resources.
